Wells Fargo
If Wells Fargo declines you for a standard checking account, you may still qualify for their “Clear Access Banking” account.
This second chance checking account has a monthly fee of $5. The only way to avoid it is if the primary account owner is 13 – 24 years old.
There’s a minimum opening deposit of $25. You get access to online bill pay, mobile banking, and over 13,000 ATMs free of charge.
WyHy Federal Credit Union
WyHy Federal offers Second Chance Checking that comes with a Visa EMV debit card and unlimited transfers and withdrawals. You need an opening deposit of $25, but there’s no minimum balance to maintain after the account is established.
There’s a monthly fee of $15, but you can get it dropped to $10 by signing up for direct deposit. Restrictions include no temporary checks, dividends, courtesy pay, or mobile deposit. However, after 12 months of no instances of non-sufficient funds, you can potentially upgrade to a regular checking account.
Membership is open to employees of select employee groups or members of various Wyoming organizations. Branches are located in Casper and Cheyenne.
Wyo Central Federal Credit Union
You can apply for 2nd Chance Checking from Wyo Central Federal. A debit card comes with the account, and you’re able to rebuild your checking background as you build a positive history by responsibly managing your funds.
To become a member, you must live, work, worship, or attend school in Natrona or Converse County. You can apply online or visit in person at one of their branches in Casper.
