North East Texas CU uses Telecheck instead of ChexSystems, plus offers a Fresh Start Checking account. An initial fee of $20 along with an opening deposit of $100 is all that is needed to open an account. From there on the monthly fee is only $7. You also must have a physical address, and be able to sign up for direct deposit to be eligible.

United San Antonio Community Federal Credit Union

United San Antonio provides a Do-Over Checking Account. With membership, this second chance checking account is still a part of the ChexSystems network, so if you maintain a good account with them you’ll also strengthen your financial history.

To open an account you only need to make an initial deposit of $25, but after that, there isn’t a minimum balance requirement.
