Editorial Policy

We built LetMeBank for people who keep getting denied a bank account. If that’s you, the last thing you need is another list of banks that turns out to be wrong. This page explains how we keep our lists accurate and how we make money.

How We Verify Every Listing

We don’t copy lists from other websites. Most second chance banking lists online are copies of copies, full of accounts that stopped existing years ago.

Before a bank or credit union goes on one of our pages, we check it against the bank’s own website. We confirm the account is real, currently offered, and available in the state where we list it. If we can’t confirm it, we don’t list it.

Second Chance Accounts vs. No-ChexSystems Banks

These are two different things, and we hold them to different standards.

A second chance checking account is a product the bank advertises itself. The bank pulls your ChexSystems report, sees your history, and approves you anyway. We only list these when the bank’s own website describes the account as a fresh start or second chance product. We link to the bank’s page so you can see it yourself.

A no-ChexSystems bank is different. Banks don’t publish which screening systems they use, so no website can verify this from official sources. Ours included. Our no-ChexSystems lists rely on reader reports, community sources, and application experiences. That’s why you’ll see the word “reportedly” on those pages. When we can’t be certain, we tell you.

When Banks Get Removed

Banks change their products all the time. Accounts get discontinued, policies change, and branches close.

We review our state pages on a regular basis. When an account disappears from a bank’s website, we remove it from ours. If you applied somewhere we list and the account no longer exists, tell us and we’ll check it right away.

How We Make Money

LetMeBank earns commissions when you open an account through some of the links on this site. That’s how we keep the site free.

Here’s what that money never buys: a spot on our lists. A bank can’t pay us to be listed, and a bank that pays us nothing gets listed anyway if it offers a real second chance account. Our job is to show you every option we can verify, not just the ones that pay.

Corrections

If you find an error on this site, we want to know. A dead link, a discontinued account, a bank that denied you when we said it wouldn’t. Contact us through our contact page and we’ll investigate and fix it.
